Nicola is having the tumour removed from the middle of her brain at the beginning of March.
She did not have to have her hair shaved off for the operation. But CAUK have been so supportive that she wanted to help them. The problem is that cavernoma’s are NOT rare – about 1 in 600 people has one. But the Dr’s need to be better informed about them, which CAUK can help with. Also, by providing a community for people with cavernoma’s they are creating a wealth of information about it, that is invaluable.
She also wanted to donate her hair to Little Princess Trust who make wigs for little girls who have lost their hair through cancer.
We ran a party for Nicola to raise money for CAUK on Tuesday 28th, so that all her friends could come and celebrate with her. There were snacks, tonnes of pampering and lots of wine to help us encourage them to part with their money!
First we made her take one of those photo’s girls hate – the BEFORE photo!!! Mwah ha ha! (Mind you she still looks fab)…
Then we added some war paint – check out that lipstick – that gives you a hint for later!
Her friends arrived and we gave them lots of food and drink to help them pass on their money!
Then we pampered their toes (even the men’s) …
And their fingers …
Then we popped Nikki in a chair, and put her hair in braids ..
Counted to 10 and CHOPPED IT OFF!!!
While all her friends watched! Doesn’t she look cute with short hair – I hope she never grows it long again …
Here are the braids for Little Princesses Trust ….
We shaved the shape of a bow into her head – delicate work!
And died the bow pink …
Did I forget to say that we added some colour to a few other people’s hair as well (but their’s washes out!) …
It was lovely seeing Nikki’s friends and loved ones get to celebrate with her
And here is that beautiful pink bow, and the beautiful Nikki …
She smiled all night!
Obviously a rock chick in the making!
